Call for Short Communications & Poster Abstracts

The AAAM’s Scientific Program Committee (SPC) invites short communications and poster abstracts for the 2021 65th Annual Scientific Conference for the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine that cover all aspects reflected in the Haddon Matrix and the Five Pillars of the United Nations (UN) Decade of Action (not limited to #1 Road Safety Management; #2 Safer Roads and mobility; #3 Safer Vehicles; #4 Safer Road Users; and #5 Post-Crash Response). We also encourage submissions that support the focus of our special interest groups including child, pedestrian, and autonomous vehicle safety. All fields of study addressing AAAM’s mission are encouraged to submit, including but not limited to: physicians, engineers, policymakers, psychologists, statisticians, sociologists, AIS specialists, and other researchers.

The conference will be held October 19 – 22, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. This host city celebrates our organization’s early ties with the automotive racing industry. The goal of the AAAM annual conference is to present the best new scientific research in all areas of road and traffic safety.

Scientific work may be reported in the following formats:

Full Length Paper Abstracts (Abstracts December 23, 2020, completed research requested)
Short Communications (Due April 10, 2021, can be work in progress) (TEMPLATE)

Instructions & Template Information for Short Communications & Poster Abstracts

DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME OR AFFILIATION IN THE BODY OF YOUR ABSTRACT. The abstract process is anonymous.

Short Communications much contain the following headings and can be no more than 2,000 words in length:
– Title
– Abstract
– Introduction
– Methods
– Results
– Discussion
– References

Poster abstracts may not exceed 500 words and include the following subheadings:
– Research Question / Objective
– Methods
– Data Sources
– Results
– Significance of results
